Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 to 2 years required License: Missouri or Compact License required Certifications: BLS NIHSS Must-Have: ACLS preferred Experience in telemetry and cardiac telemetry Description: This position is within a progressive care unit with a patient ratio of 1:5. Candidates with 1 to 2 years of nursing experience are preferred. First-time travelers are accepted. The role requires holiday shifts and charge nurse assignments as needed. There is a weekend requirement of 8 shifts within a 6-week scheduling period, with a combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Floating is required within the scope to meet facility needs. This position will float between various departments, including med/surg and intermediate care units. Certifications in BLS and NIHSS are required, with ACLS preferred. Key skills needed include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management. Experience with cardiovascular procedures such as pre/post-cardiac catheterization and sheath removal is also preferred. Knowledge of various patient conditions, including sepsis, renal failure, and stroke, is essential. Candidates should be able to manage intravenous therapy and phlebotomy. This role involves caring for adult and geriatric populations. Interdisciplinary support is available from various specialized teams. The ability to handle a range of medical equipment is necessary. Flexibility in schedule and the ability to complete a compliance process are imperative.
